Stippling!

In this art class we had to continue the drawing by the way or stippling.
Our teacher told us that it was time consuming but we will be very proud when we're
done. She also specified that we should email the blog to her by the end of the week,
which is Saturday.

We were also informed about what we were getting for the end of term exam for
visual arts which is either drawing a fruit or colouring with OIL pastels and that we
have three hours to complete this fruit.
I completed the stippling over the drawing which took hours to finish,
I found this very hard and stress full.

Art class

 In this class I was absent from class. I was told that they didn't do much so I had not worry.
They talked about some upcoming competition. I didn't gather enough information on it so I
I couldnt take part. Didn't seem like i missed much.

Collage and Pastel

Welcome back,
In this week's art class many of my classmates had to redo their pastel drawings because
of the lack of following instructions but i did not because i received full marks for my drawing.
Many drawings got better whilst some didn't. The class was now getting frustrated.

We also entered our collages for marking of which my own wasn't up to par.
I was told and like many that we had to redo our collages. I did over my collage and got 20/25 but i have no content of that picture.

      Afterwards we learnt how to draw a profile of a face using a grid technique. We were required to draw/fold a grid on the paper and reproduce that same grid by drawing it on the picture of the bust of a person. We needed to finish it and bring it back for next class. The drawing needed precision to be completed.

Pastel Drawings

Pastel is a form to express art.
In art class we were required to bring pastel and paper and a fruit for the the colouring.
We soon discovered that there are varieties of pastels, two most common ones were oil and chalk. The majority of the class brought chalk pastels.

We soon began the art assignment and handed it up for preliminary marking. Our teacher told us the importance of following techniques similar to the drawings, she also told us that there would be comments for improvement but I did well in getting Full marks!

We were to bring them back but i lost mine so i did over 1 in 20 mins and got 25/25 . Take a look!

I am very proud of my work and am glad to have created it.

Still Life!

Here again, second art class we began the still life. We were required to bring paper and drawing materials. Oh and not forgetting the fruit. Many people brought Apples.
most of them picked five fingers off the tree early in the the morning before class even start. I brought all my materials! One even brought a lime. Within minutes we began the drawings. Before I could know it i was finished.


I found that my drawing was looking very good. I was fond of it. i carried up for teacher and I was told I executed the techniques beautifully. The techniques were as followed:

• Wrapping- in which u begin shading in the shape of the fruit in ball-like patterns.
• Colour differences- where we used the value chart for the colour differences.

Start of the Term.

First art class,
we, the class of form 2 east, were given the Scheme of work for the term and so follows:

• Still life
• Portrait

We were also were given a collage to construct for 2 weeks. It was difficult at first but i think i finally understood it. The collage should consist of unrelated materials on to a flat surface as a composition. Miss took a lot of time explaining the process we didn't have enough time to start any work.

I have done terribly last term, Time to redeem myself!
